Another capture off of our Lanai in Kona. There are a bunch of these beauties flitting about. Never long enough to lock focus, but this one works well I think.
Driving east on US 50, the Lincoln Highway. Here in Nevada the highway is characterized as “The Loneliest Highway”. This mid-April morning, we dropped down from the mountain pass in time for sunrise coupled with a cloud inversion in the valley bottom.
The cold snap is over. The skies are opening up for a moment. A good time for a brisk walk at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.

This Great Horned Owl squints down at us from a large, old tree on the grounds of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters.
