Northwest Moments

Moments captured Northwest of Somewhere.

Comet Over the Narrows - On July 21st, 2020, comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) is almost too dim to discern amongst the other stars. It is certainly too dim to be seen with the naked eye. To find it, look almost too the top of the frame directly above the right tower on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Goodbye to Comet NEOWISE

On July 21st, 2020, comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) is almost too dim to discern amongst the other stars. It is certainly too dim to be seen with the naked eye. To find it, look to the top of the frame directly above the right tower on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) - Captured on July 15th, from Chinook Pass, I wanted to get a reflection in Tipsoo Lake but the lake was not still enough. This silhouette of the ridge to the north of the lake will have to do.

More Comet Neowise

Captured on July 15th, from Chinook Pass, I wanted to get a reflection in Tipsoo Lake but the lake was not still enough. This silhouette of the ridge to the north of the lake will have to do.

Milky Way - While the comet NEOWISE was putting on a show to the north, the Milky Way was out in full splendor to the south. This was taken from Sunrise Point looking south towards Mt Adams.

More lights in the night sky

While we were chilling our butt, and enjoying NEOWISE the other night, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Milky Way was also lighting up the night sky behind us. Jupiter is the brightest spot in the lower left. Saturn is directly to its left.

Yellow Avalanche-lily - Beside Tipsoo Lake, Mt Rainier National Park.

Avalanche Lily

This image is focus stacked so I could get the flower behind the Avalanche Lily sharp. I like the way the anthers look to be peeking out from behind the not fully opened flower blossom.
